Today, the Minister of Gender, Community Development, and Social Welfare, Honourable Jean Muonaouza Sendeza, MP,
visited Traditional Authority Tengani’s area in Nsanje District where she interacted with people benefiting from the
Social Cash Transfer Programme (SCTP) and Savings and Loan Groups (SLGs).
The Minister said she was pleased to see that the number of beneficiaries in the district has increased from 5,000 to 7,000.
However, she noted that more deserving people still need to be included in the programme.
She also praised the district for switching from manual to electronic payments, describing it as an important step that makes payments more secure.
One of the beneficiaries, Naomi Sakhwimbi, said she is using the money from the programme to build a house.
