Deputy Minister of Gender, Hon. Halima Daud, MP, on Wednesday visited Mzimba North to appreciate the School Feeding Program at
Jonas Community Based Child Care Centre, Mayembe Village Savings and Loan (VSL) groups, and Social Cash Transfer Program (SCTP) beneficiaries at Elangeni Primary School.
She commended traditional leaders for championing early childhood development and assured caregivers of the government’s continued
support through training and incentives under President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera’s administration.
At Mayembe VSL, Hon. Daud engaged with empowered SCTP beneficiaries, highlighting the government’s commitment to improving livelihoods through social protection programs.
Hon. Daud distributed fruit tree seedlings to SCTP beneficiaries as part of building resilience, promoting food security, income generation, and climate change adaptation.
