Promoting Access to ECD Services

Currently only 45.36 percent of children are accessing ECD services across the country. Through the implementation of the National ECD Policy and Strategic Plan, the Department is expecting to increase access of children to ECD services to 70 percent by the year 2022. Annually, a total of 1000 CBCCs are established. This is done through awareness raising meetings will be done through construction of ECD Centres and training, training of caregivers and parenting committees at community level. ECD services are provided for free in all public ECD Centres while in private ECD Centres, parents are expected to contribute a fee.
