The Deputy Minister of Gender, Community Development and Social Welfare, Honourable Halima Daud, MP, is Guest of Honour during a visit by the World Bank’s Regional Director for Human Development in Eastern and Southern Africa, Daniel Dulitzky, at Chilimampunga Ground in Mtandire Township, Lilongwe.

Dulitzky is in Malawi to appreciate the impact of urban livelihood interventions, including value addition initiatives and the growth of small and medium enterprises, aimed at enhancing resilience among urban poor communities.

The Government of Malawi, with financial support from the World Bank, is implementing the Social Support for Resilient Livelihoods Project (SSLRP). The project supports the Social Cash Transfer Programme, Climate Smart Public Works, and Livelihoods Enhancement activities.
